Kidderminster, a Property Hotspot
Kidderminster has hit the headlines with news of the town being placed in the top four property hotspots in the country.
Nock Deighton’s Kidderminster branch principal, Erica Hinwood, takes a look at the figures...
The news follows a study by Rightmove looking at the growth in house sellers’ asking prices across Britain, with the exception of London, over the past year - and it’s very good news for Kidderminster.
The figures are welcome amid current uncertainties over Brexit and the wider global economy which has made for some gloomy reading over past months.
The study reveals the average selling price for a property in Kidderminster is £200,343. An increase of just over 10% on the previous year’s figures and ranks us fourth in the national property hotspot list. Barry in South Wales came out top, followed by Wednesbury and Llandudno.

Interestingly, four of the five places that have seen the biggest decrease over the past year are in the south of the country: Esher -6.7%, Leatherhead -6.3%, Sandhurst -5.5% and Woking -5.1%.
It won’t surprise you to know that average price tags on properties in these areas range from £409,370 to £958,012 - massively different asking prices from those further north figuring at the other end of the rankings.
This study only reinforces what we at Nock Deighton already know - now is an extremely favourable time to be selling your home, particularly in our part of north Worcestershire!
